Moving around the University of St Andrews
Published on
After almost 6 years working for the Digital Communications team at the University of St Andrews, I’ve moved to a newly created Marketing team as a Digital Developer.
Although it was my first development job, I loved my time in the team with the colleagues I had and I’m grateful for the opportunities, knowledge and skills I gained. However, I felt it was time to move on and take on a new challenge.
I (and a few of my colleagues) were seconded for 6 months in November 2024 into a new team focusing on improving postgraduate taught (PGT) numbers for a number of courses. This led us to overhaul our PGT course pages which included a redesign of the template, updated information architecture, and improved content. See the difference for yourself!
My new colleagues were also implementing new marketing campaigns, targeted advertising, and launching new Executive Education short courses from the Business School.
All this work made a difference, and at the end of April 2025, along with hiring a Head of Marketing, our seconded team was being turned into St Andrews’ first dedicated marketing team!
Currently (as of when this post is published), my focus is creating an ‘all-in-one’ course template and keeping a technical eye over our course proofing process. I know the team will carry on doing great things and I’m glad to be part of it!
